It saddens us deeply to announce the sudden departure of beloved Mary Goretti Akinyi Ofwona on Wednesday, 1 December 2021.

Doting mother of Robert Sean Ochieng and Mark. Ofwona. Daughter of the late Eng. Mark Peter Ofwona and late Josephine Aoko Ofwona of Ka-Gonya sub-location, Sega Location, Siaya County. Sister to Paul Ofwona, Rose Odundo Diana Ofwona-Mukama, late Alice Ofwona, James Ofwona, Charles Ofwona, Edith Ofwona, Betty Kiarie, George Ofwona and late Major Kenneth Ofwona.

Sister-in-law of late Elizabeth Ofwona, late Maurice Odundo, Alphonse Mukama, Adriana Ofwona, Evelyne Ofwona, and James Gachiu. Niece of Mzee John Opiyo, Dominic and Judy Nyanya, Late Daniel and Late Mary Nyanya, Late Raphael and Mama Selina Nyanya, Joe Adewa, Helena Odongo and Terry Odongo, among others.

Cherished Aunt of Lilac Odundo, Lorraine and George Muchiri, Michelle and Eric Kabuthia, Stephanie, Michael Odundo, Joseph Odundo, Beryl and Blessing Jasi, Jeff Opar, Josephine Opar, Lena Ofwona, Eva Ofwona, Klaudia Draber Ofwona, Jara Meierkord, Tracy Ofwona, Cheryl Ofwona, Sasha Ofwona, Lourdel Adera, Clyde Adera and Karen Kiarie among others.

A funeral service will be held at the CITAM Church, Valley Road on Thursday, 9 December at 10am.

Mary will be interred at noon on Tuesday, 14 December 2021in Kobondo Village, Sega Location, Siaya County following a Church service by the graveside.
