MARY KHAKASA WASIKE

3rd April, 1939 — 8th July, 2021

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that wo announce the passing away of Mary Khokasa Wasike, daughter of the late Joseph Blasio Kokonya and the late Elizabeth Bukhula.

Daughter-in-law of the late Asman Ngabo and Majuma Nekimita. Mary was the beloved wife of Edward Wasike and treasured mother of Martin, Aquinas, Crispin, Phyllis, Irene, Celestine, Calestus, George, Noela, Sylvia, Viridiana and Sister Cornelia. Doting grandmother of Salome, Linah, Ian, Dwayne, Mark, Tara, Joseph, Tamara, Jasmine, Edward, Liz, Leon, Cara, Theo, Nadia, Nana and Maya. Great grandmother of Dairy.

Mother-in-law of late Christine, Keshoney, Branice, Wangechi and Oliver. Sister to Leah Kokonya, the late Dr George Kokonya, Mathias Kokonya, Richard Kokonya, the late Peter Kokonya, Flora Kokonya, the late James Kokonya and Martin Kokonya.

Her other siblings include Florence Kokonya, the late Morris Kokonya, Ferdinand Kokonya, Reginald Kokonya, Alice Kokonya, Stella Kokonya, Celestine Kokonya, Duncan Kokonya Delia Kokonya, Micken Kokonya and Denis Kokonya. Cousin of the late Prof. Edward Kasili, the late Pius Mumiukha, the late Joseph Murnelo, Cleophas MIsiko, Daniel Mumitikha, Peter Kasili, the Nabangis, the Changalwas, the Wachiyos among others. An auntie of many. Sister-In-law of the late Robert Ndombi, Maria, Bilha, Lillian, Rose, Lynette, amongst others.

The cortege will depart from Cherangany Nursing Funeral Home on Wednesday July 14th, 2021 at 12.00noon for the family home In Matunda Township, Uasin GIshu County for overnight stay and thereafter final rites and interment on Thursday July 15th 2021.
