It is with humble acceptance that we announce the passing on of our beloved matriach Rebecca Nasambu Maindi.

Daughter of the late Alex Wanyama Namukhaywa and the late Prisca Nanyama Wanyama. Sister of late Sarah, David, Sylverius Simiyu and Partrick Wabuke. Niece of Mzee Henry Mmaraki Wandili and Zebedee Wandili.

Loving wife of the late John Maindi Chuumbe; co-wife of Faustine Namalwa Maindi and Selinah Namukuru Maindi. Loving mother of Elizabeth Nasaba Maindi, Madonna Nasimiyu, the late Hellen Nangekhe Kibanani, Dr. Fredrick Mukendi Maindi, Auleria Nasipwoni Omoyo and the late Felistus Nekesa Maindi. Step mother of the late Simiyu, the late Nafula, Opara, Nabwala, Wanjala, Naliaka Barasa, the late Nakhumicha, Mbakhila, Nakitali and Caro. Mother-in-law of Levi lsagi, the late Kevin Wakoli, Professor Charles Kibanani, Margaret Asava, Rosemary Waringa and George Omoyo.

Doting grandmother of Olivia, Dorris, Joseph, Naliaka, Kennedy, Jemimah, Kevin, Alex, Marinah, Esther, Emmanuel, Samuel,Anthony,Triza, Robert, Edgar, Ritah and Edward. Great-grandmother of Seunice, Damian, Shukri, Ethan and Abigail.

The body will be moved from Life Care Mortuary for a requiem mass at the Catholic Cathedral, Bungoma on Friday, 16th October 2020 at 2:00 pm. Subsequently, she will be laid to rest on Saturday, 17th October 2020 at her home In Ranje village, Bungoma.
