MAYI LENAH MULIRO

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing-on of Mama Lena Muliro, which took place on 17th April, 2023. She was a member of the Bakhoma clan and hailed from Namwela Village in Bungoma County.

She was the wife of the late Hon. Joseph Muliro, former Ambassador to the Scandinavian countries, West Germany and the EEC, Head and Chairman of the Lome Convention 1 , Permanent Secretary of DoD and Assistant Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She was the daughter of the late Joel and Maria Wekhui and the mother of Anna, the late Helen, Flo, Joel and the late George.

Sister to the late Yohana Wandabwa, the late Norah Musundi, the late Timona Wasilwa, Rose Mudavadi, the late Javan Wekhui,Amos Wekhui, the late George Wekhui, Elizabeth Bwayo and Grace Kuto.

Sister-in-law to Eng. Festus Wasilwa, former PC John Nandasaba, Grace, Joyce, Esnus, the late Margaret, the late J.J. Musundi, Ambassador Justus Mudavadi, the late Prof. Bwayo and Paul Kuto.

She was a Trustee and Pastor of the Sikulu Monthly Meeting of Friends Church.

Her remains are lying at the Cherangani Nursing Home,Trans-Nzoia County.

The cortege leaves for her residence at Musikulu Farm in Kiminini on Friday 28th April, 2023 for an overnight vigil. A memorial service will be held at her home on Saturday 29th April 2023, starting at 7.30am. Burial will take place thereafter.
