It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mercy Wairimu Kinyua of Ngorano Village, Ruguru Ward, Mathira, Nyeri County.

Wife to the late Dishon Kinyua Kahinga (Wa Nyakanyeni).

Daughter of the late Weru Wachira and the late Wakini Weru. Sister to the late Wachira Weru (Ndaroini), the late Edith Wanliku (Subukia), the late Maina Weru, the late Wakanyi Kinyua (Kakulet, Nyeri), the late Muriithi Weru (Gatuamba, Nyeri).

Mother to Alice Wanjiru Kiumi, Mwali mu James Maina Kinyua, Richard Ndiritu Kinyua, Hon. Fredrick Wanjohi Kinyua (CEC Water, Environment and Climate Change – Nyeri County), Cecilia Muthoni Gathirua, Rosalia Njeri Kinyua, Hon. Peter Weru Kinyua (Chairman KALRO and Former MP Mathira Constituency), and Ellin Mithamo Kinyua.

Mother-in-law to the late Kiumi Matu, Mary Wangui Maina, Mary Ngima Ndiritu, Lydiah Wangechi Wachira, Peris Njeri Wanjohi, Anthony Gathirua Ndiritu, Josephine Nyambura Weru, and Florence Wanpru Mithamo.

Grandmother and great-grandmother to many. Great-great-grandmother to Mitchel, Sherlyn, Chris and Grace.

Funeral arrangements and Prayers are being held at Roasters Hotel, St Luke Conference Hall, Thika Road today Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5.00 PM as well as at her Ngorano home daily starting from 4:00pm.

The cortege leaves KU Referral Hospital Mortuary on Wednesday 6th December, 2023 at 7:00am for a church service at Ngorano Primary School, Ruguru, Mathira Nyeri County starting at 11:00am. She will later be laid to rest at her Ngorano home
