MIRIAM JOYCE ANYINYO WEKE `MAMA SANDE’

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we regret to announce the passing on of Miriam Joyce Anyinyo Weke nee Omolo, which occurred on Sunday, 2nd July,2023 in Nairobi, while undergoing medical treatment.

Wife of Boniface Alfred Ochola Kwatch-Weke (formerly of Toyota Kenya, Mombasa). Loving mother to Phillip Otieno (Sande), Lynette Amolo-Kyalo, Richard Onim and Anne Atieno Weke. Mother-in-law to Maria Kavishe, Kenneth Kyalo, Madliene Chombo and Collins Ochieng’. Grandmother to Evan Weke, Imani Miriam Weke, Theresia Anyango Kyalo (Tracy), Alfred Kyalo, Eugene Onim Kyalo, Ian Ochola Weke, Derrick Sydney Odhiambo and Wilson Kwatch Ochieng.

Miriam was the daughter of the late Morris Omolo and Domtila Ogar. Daughter-in-law of the late John Weke Onim and the late Teresia Anyango.

Sister to Simon, Moses, the late Elizabeth, Walter, the late Samuel, Wesonga, Anyango and Malak.

Sister-in-law to Pius, Barnes, Mathews (all deceased) and Patrick Oginga.

Mama Miriam was a long-standing member of the Likoni Catholic Church, Mombasa where she also served for many years as the Dress Making Instructor before moving to her home in Kendu Bay, where she continued her engagement with the local church serving in various positions in the Catholic Women Association (CWA) leadership.

Family and friends are meeting at Tumaini Estate, Outering Road, Nairobi (House C14) starting at 5.00pm.

The cortege leaves Monalisa Montezuma Funeral Home on 20th July, 2023. The funeral service and burial will be at her matrimonial home in Misita Olando village, ranyadhiang’ Sub-location, Kendu Bay, from 10.00am on 21st July, 2023.
