MIRRIAM CHEROGONY

It is with profound sorrow that we Kapcherogony family inform you of the passing on of Mirriam Cherogony on Wednesday, 5th July 2023 at Nairobi Hospital after a short illness. The body is at Lee Funeral Home.

Miriam Jerotich Cherogony was born on 7th December, 1962 in Pemwai Village, Lelian Sub-Location, Katiorin Location, Kabartonjo Ward, Baringo North Sub County in Baringo County. She was the third born to Mzee Daniel Kipkemei Cherogony and the late Teriki Kipkemei and Hannah Kobilo.

She was the beloved mother to Ian Kipchirchir Tuitoek (USIU).

Sister to Col. (Rtd) Ronald, the late Gidion, Capt (Rtd) Edward (University of Eldoret), Druscillah (Dept of Coops & Enterprise Dev., Uasin Gishu), Susan (Eldoret), Rev. Dr Juddy Karei (Citam, Kapsabet), Douglas Kiptui (KeLCoP- Nakuru), Julius, the late Isaac, Gidion Chebon (Kenya Pipeline, Nairobi), Kipruto (Kitale), Japhet (Moi’s Bridge), Alicen (Nakuru), Matilda (Nandi County), Mark (Pemwai), Winnie (NHIF, Nakuru), and Amos (Nakuru).

Sister-in-law to Jane (Eldama Ravine), Julia (Eldoret), Nancy (Mama Babra, Moi University), the late Jane (Mama Kiprop), Saituna (Kitale), Alice (Mors Bridge), the late Rose, Silas (Nandi), Betty (Nakuru), Vincent (Moi University) Betty (Nairobi), Major Samuel Chirchir (Moi AirBase), and the late Andrew.

Auntie to Kosy, Sammy, Patrick, Barbara, Daisy, Kiprop. Lucy, Jeli, Kiptoo, Jeru, Steve, Barbara, Joy, Jum and Jerotich.

She was the Board chair of Green Rhino, Advisory Board Chair Crawn trust and former Country Director Self-help Africa.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday the 13th July 2023 at Citam Valley Rd from 10.00am to 1.00pm.

The late Mirriam will be laid to rest on Saturday, 15th July 2023, at her home OloRongai Nakuru County.
