MR. LEONARD ARAP SAWE

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of former Permanent Secretary Mr. Leonard Arap Sawe on the 27th October 2024.

He was born on November 8, 1941, in Olesoi Village, Chepalungu Sub-County, Bomet County and was the beloved son of the late Mr. Samuel Ngasura Bore and the late Mrs. Mary Ngasura Bore.

Leonard was a devoted husband of Mrs. Peris Sawe and a cherished father of Ronald Kirui, Timothy Kirui, Stanley Kirui, Daniel Kirui, and Benjamin Kirui.

He was a loving  father-in-law of Lucy Rotich Kirui, Maldrine Kirui, Clare Kirui, and Lynne Kirui.

As a grandfather, he brought joy to his grandchildren: Anthea Kirui, Hayley Kirui, Heather Kirui, Chloe Kirui, Jasmine Kirui, Aletheia Kirui, Leon Kirui, and Hazel Kirui.

He was a dear brother of the late Stephen, Eunice, David, Florence, Sarah, Elizabeth, James, Zakayo, Josephine, Peter and Nancy. 

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Leonard’s life at a funeral service at 12 noon, today,Monday, November 4, 2024, at Lavington United Church in Lavington.

The burial service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Good Shepherd Academy in Cheptalal Village, Bomet County and he will be laid at his home in Cheptalal Village.

Leonard’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched, and he will be dearly missed
