MR. PATRICK OBONYO AGUTU

It is in humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of Mr. Patrick Obonyo Agutu (formerly of the University of Nairobi), which occurred on Friday June 14, 2024 while receiving treatment after a short ilness.

Beloved husband of Mrs. Salome Obonyo (formerly of Survey of Kenya). Loving father of Victor, Moses, Andrew, Ken and Diana. Grandfather of David, Daniela, Delia, Hawi and Heri. Father-in-law of Annette, Ruth, Fidelis and Kendi.

Son of the late Mzee Julius Agutu and the late Mama Agneta Amolo, the late Mama Beldina Obare and Mama Alice Muyoma Agutu of Ndere sub-location, North Gem location, Gem Constituency, Siaya County.

Brother of the late Lorna Oduyu, Henry Nyawade, the late Washington Kagutu, the late Charles Oyomba and Mildred Okullu. Son-in-law of the late Mzee James Onyango, Mama Dina Ogalo Onyango and Mama Agnes Adoyo Onyango of Rongo – Cham gi Wadu, Migori County.

Loving uncle and mentor to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and burial arrangements at his family home in Kitengela (Chuna Estate, 4 th Campus Road, Chiromo Lane).

A virtual funds drive to cater for the hospital bill and burial expenses is scheduled for Tuesday June 25, 2024 from 2.00 – 5.00p.m.

A memorial service in his honor will be held at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi on Thursday June 27,2024 at 12.00 Noon.

The body will be taken to his home at Kitengela for night vigil.

The body will leave his Kitengela home on Friday June 28, 2024 for burial at his Ndere home on Saturday June 29,2024.
