It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden demise of Mwalimu Joseph Matimu Maeda of Kahachu Village Kiarnwangi Sub Location, which occurred on 17th November 2020 at The Outspan Hospital Nyeri after a short illness.

Son of the late Mageria Githinji & the late Esther Gachambi Mageria. Loving husband of Perpetua Wanjiru. Father of Rev. Fr Boniface Kiragu (Nyeri Diocese), late Patrick Mageria, Rev Sr Joan Agnes Njambi (Consotata Sisters), Robert Githinji, Lawrence Ngucuga, Edwin Kanyiri, Andrew Ruhara. Felix Alex Waruingi & Dennis Paul Irura. Brother of the late Muthoni Njeru, Elizabeth Gathigia, late John Edward Githinji, Wandia Kahuthu, Agatha Wanjugu, Julius Kanyiri, Murugi Miano & Wanjiru Muriithi. Father-in-law of Maria Jesan, Monica Wanjiru, Charity Wangui, Nancy Waithira & Lydia Nyandikx Grandfather of Leonella Githinji, Fidelis Mageria, Kelvin Ngucuga, Serena Kanyiri, Ines Wendy Ruhara. Matimu Waruingi Damian Irura among others. Great grandfather of Adrian Mbui & Asriel Leone Githinji.

Friends and family are meeting daily at his residence in Kahachu at 3pm for Mass and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Jamii nursing home Karatina at 9:00am followed by a funeral service at Karatina Catholic Church at 10:00am, followed by an interment at his home, Kahacu village on Tuesday 24th November, 2020.
