It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of our beloved Dad and Patriarch Mwalimu William Ochich Onyiero of Kadero Village, Koguta East, Nyakach Sub County, Kisumu County. Formerly a teacher at Kolanya Boy’s High, Kisii High, Itierio Mixed High School and Bondo TTC before promotion to TSC as District Staffing Officer in Mwingi until his retirement in 2004. He later served as BoM Sigoti Girls Complex Sec. and St Martin De Porres Special School.

Beloved husband to the late Sophie Ochich Onyiero-Retired Zonal Inspection/TAC Tutor and father to Martin Odhiambo of Save the Children International, Matilda Atieno of the County Government of Kisumu, Job Oyoo of uLima-ETG Kenya and the late Joan Achieng. Grandfather to Courtney, Tandy, Cayla, Curtis, Liam, and Zendaya. Father-in-Law to Brendah Akinyi and Maurine Achieng’, Caro, Susan amongst others.

Son to the late Jairo and Rosebefla Onyiero step son to the late Alseba and Rusalia Ogutu. Son-in-law to the late Ellon and Truphosa Ang’unya of Kabodho, Lower Nyakach. Parent in Law to Cyrillus Owino, Edith Mboga, John Otieno and Ruth Otieno.

Brother to the late Walter, Robert. Edward, Ben, Dr Nyakach and Joseph Orege, the late Jennifer, the late Marceline, Doris, Helida, Joyce, Caren and others. Brother-in-law to the late Perez, Evangelist Caroline, Lydiah, Lilian, Mary Okiro, Tabitha Were, the late Lawi, the late George and the late Samson and Odhiambo Okuku, Christine Were (USA) among Ochich Onyiero others.

Uncle to the late Simian, Alfred, Odhiambo, Hellen, Betty, Evaline, Kennedy, Jesse. Others are Solomon, William, Debora, Achieng, Johnson, Marylyn, Felix, Lawrence, Maxwell, Joshua Owilly (USA).

The Cortege leaves Star Hospital Mortuary Kisumu on Thursday the 20th of January 2022 at 9:00 am for requiem mass at Church of Christ in Africa Cathedral and proceed for internment on 21st of January 2022 at his home led by Arch-Bishop Dr Patrick Ligawa Nyagudi.
