It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of Mzee Asaria Obonyo Claudio, which occurred on 13th July, 2023, after a long illness.

Son of the late Claudio Atieno and the late Norah Akoth.

Husband to the late Lucy Achungo and Helida Ajwang.

Brother to the late Jephitha Omany, the late Margaret Adala, the late Magdaline, Alice Adhiambo, the late Awino, George, the late Wilfred, the late James Ochieng, the late James Onyango, the late Fredrick Omondi, the late Boaz Nyadero, Adikinyi, Caroline, the late Aoko, the late Judith Atieno, Doris Anyango, the late Ongiro, Okolla, Ouma, Owino Job and the late Karen.

Father to Norah Kremer, Judith Tegtmeier, the late Jane, Leah Inyangala, the late Wilson, the late Rosemary, the late Jackline, Patrick and Beatrice.

He leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The cortege leaves Sagam Hospital Mortuary on Friday 28th July, 2023 for funeral service to be held at Ng’uono Church – Ulumbi. Thereafter, proceed to his home for an overnight Vigil. Burial will take place on Saturday 29th July, 2023 at his home in Ulumbi Village, Gem-Yala.
