MZEE BARNABAS ONYANGO OLUOCH

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mzee Barnabas Onyango Oluoch after a long illness bravely borne. He passed on November 2nd 2023 at a private Hospital in Busia and his body is lying at Francis funeral home in Busia.

Mr Barnabas Onyango Oluoch was The second born son to the late Mr. John Oluoch and Mathilda Odiedo Oluoch.
He was born on 27th October 1933 in Uranga Village.

He is survived by two wives, Mama Kelesedhia Apondi and Mama Margaret Akech. He is the father to Conceptor Orende, Dr. Juliana Ogolla, the late Erick Abur, the late Patrick Opany, Marita Onyango-Okumu and Paul Jaboda Onyango. Father-in-law to Evans Ogolla, Brigadier George Okumu, Sharon Jaboda, Joyce Abur, Liz Onyango. Grandfather to Kevin Orende, Benna Orende, Dr. Christopher Ogolla, Kimberly Ogolla,Tilda Abur, Natasha Onyango, Shawn Okumu, Sonia Okumu, Eric Jaboda, David Jaboda, and Dawn Jaboda. Great grandfather to Nils Orende.

He was brother to the late Helena Anyango, Adhiambo Nyo ‘Bange, Phelista Anyango, John Oduor, Okoth Lucas, Sugar Odhiambo. Survived by siblings Maria Nyawire, Margaret Achieng, Dorine,A nyango Joyce,Aketch Oduor, Hellen Akoth, Domtilla Awino, Otiti and Owino.

He was Uncle to Akinyi Opande, Mary Owuor, Lule, (sack, Muranga, Awino, Philip Oduor among many others.

Cousin to Otieno Fundi, Charles Ooko among many others.

The cortege leaves Francis Funeral home Busia for a prayer service at Yogo Catholic Church at 12.00pm on Friday the 1st December 2023.Thereafter, to his home Uranga Village for an overnight vigil and prayers.

There will be a celebration of life mass at the St Barnabas Uranga Primary School on Saturday 2nd December 2023. He will be laid to rest at the family home next to his late Father’s grave.
