MZEE ERASTUS SIMIYU WEKESA

It is with great sorrow that we announce the demise of Mzee Erastus Simiyu Wekesa, that occurred on 20th November, 2021, at Maxicare Sunrise Hospital.

Son of the late Ainea Wekesa and late Rael Standi. Husband of late Rispah Nabalayo. Father of Nelly Khasoa – Tongaren, Christine Wamalwa Chwele, Dr. Elizabeth Wanjekeche-KALRO, Rose Simiyu – Misikhu, Emily Simiyu Sang’alo TIT Kennedy Simiyu – Daresalaam, Ben Simiyu Magemo Stephen Simiyu – USA, Caroline Simiyu- Magemo. Father-in-law of Samson Barasa, Robert Masibo, Julius Wanjekeche, Wamotsa, Ben Waswa, Sophia and Ebby.

Grandfather of Everlyn, Alex, Sela, Peter, Mark, Philip, Faith, Ashley and Isabel, among others. Brother of the late Matthew Kubende, late Rebecca Sitati, John Masika, late Elizabeth Opwora, Sammy Wekesa and late Hudson Wafula. Cousin of Dr Henry Wanjala, Dr Chris Wanyama, William Sudi, Patrick Khisa among others. Brother in law of Jared, Kennedy, Wabwoba, Benson Opwora, late Sitati, late Emily, Imelda Masika, Rebecca Wafula. Uncle of David Kubende, Khaoma Sitati, Stella Barasa, Beverly Opwora – County Commissioner Tharaka Nithi and Gerald Mutama, among others.

The Body is at Lugulu Mission Hospital. Burial will be held on Saturday 4th December, 2021, at his home in Magemo Village, Bungoma County.
