MZEE JAMES OMARIBA ‘GETIRO’ ONGARO

The Omariba Family and the larger Getiro Family is saddened to announce the passing on of their Father and Leader, Mzee James Omariba ‘Getiro’, originally of Botabori, Nyaronge Village, Gesima, Nyamira County, and currently Keginga (Mecheo) Gesima Scheme, Nyansiongo, Nyamira County. The death occurred in Kisumu on 21st
October, 2023 after a long illness.

Son of the late Mzee Charles Ongaro and Mama Lucia Buyaki. Step-son to the late Nyabonyi ‘Kenyansa’ Ongaro.

Husband to The the late Monica Nyaboe, Tabitha Gesare, and Joyce Ware.

Brother to: Stephen Kiage, the late Thomas Momanyi, the late Florence Mong’ina, Haron Ongaro, Yovensia Moraa, the late Samuel Marube, Sarah Mokeira Nyangau, John Temu, Veronica Kemunto, Zachari Nyangau, the late Kiage Onyomba, the late Reuben Gichana, Elizabeth Mosobeti, the late James Moyaro and the late Charles Ongaro.

Father to: Agness Nyambati, the late Charles Ongaro, Duke Mogaka, Espon Nyabochoa, Tom Mongare, Flora) Kwamboka, Isabella Kerubo, Gladys Nyanchama, Shadrack Nyangau, Geofrey Orina, Everlyn Nyabonyi, Hellen
Orina, the late Bob Ongaro, the late Irene, the late Mokeira, Erick Gekonde Diana Nyaboke, Moses Ogoso, Timothy Ogato, Edwin Nyandieka (Canada) Violet Nyabonyi (USA) and Reuben Gichana. Grandfather, Great-grandfather
and Great-great-grandfather to many.

The body is lying at The Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary – Kisumu. The burial service will take place on Friday, 3rd November 2023, at his home Keginga Village (Mecheo), Nyansiongo Scheme, Borabu, Nyamira County.
