It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patriarch Joseck Sashandet Cheren of Bukno Psero Clan (Kapkuneek Clan), which occurred on 09/06/2021.

Son of the late Mzee Kimtai Sashandet and the late Marru Chesekut Chebosis. Loving husband of Priscah Chepkebin Cheren. Father of Titus Kotut Cheren, Sarah Maling’a, Monica Chelimo, Peninah Makiya, Hon. Silas Cheren, Sofia Temko Cheren, Leah Cheren, Humphrey Temoi Cheren and Elphas Chemosit Cheren.

Brother of the late Japheth Tekei, Joyce Chebenion, the late Dephrosa Chepkurui, Ainea Kurumoia, Bramwel Kuwaki, Wycliffe Kubonei, Jones Chemocos and Phanice Congress. Cousin of Dud Scher, Israel Kiboi, Psisei Cheprot, Mnanda Taboi among others.

Son-in-law of Joseph Chesori and Gogo Maua Chesori. Father-in-law of Lillian Kotut, David Maling’a Gideon Mogoi, Dr. Joshua Aroni, Rachel Cheren, Bernard Kones, David Baraza, Phanice Monoo, Bamwai of the late Mnanda Chepture, the late Stanley Cherry Chemayiek, the late Stephen Aroni, Mr. Wilkam Sirma, the late Martin Kones, the late Moses Makanda and the late Stephen Monoo.

He will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a committed husband, father, Christian and community leader. He was also greatly devoted to the church where he encouraged al sisters, brothers and neighborhood to join the church.

He will be laid to rest on Friday 18th June, 2021 in his farm, Bungoma County, Mt. Elgon Sub-County, Cheskaki Ward, Marigo Village.
