It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mzee Samson Kachuwai Mayiek (SK) on 28th January 2022 at the Cherangany Nursing Home, Kitale. He was dad, grandfather, role model, mentor and a friend to many.

Husband to the late mama Joina Chemoo and Rabecca Yego. Last born of Mzee Ngeiywo Chebor arap Chemayiek and Temko Tawarar Mokowit. Brother to the late Ex-Chief Livingstone Naibei, the late Masai (Kings Rifles Army), the late Ex-Chief Luka Chepkorot Mayiek, The late Maiba, the late Saliamo, the late Maua, Mesa and Sudi Labiro.

Father to the late Christine Sikuku, Hilda Langat, Gideon Psiya,Alice Chepohuru, Sophy Chemasingen, PS. Harry Kimtai (Principal secretary — Livestock Department), Livingstone Tugee,Titus Kapurko, Dorcas Saliamo, Ben Kwemoi, Esther Chesang, Linet Chematany, Carol Tengecho,, Patricia Masai, Martin Kipyego (Moi University), Stella Chebet, Renos Chemayiek, Bernard Malamik, Donna Temko, The late Alex Mayiek, Rhoda Chebamban, Dan Mayiek and Valarie Yego. He was blessed with 56 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Father in-law to Benjamin Langat, Phillis Gideon, Annastacia Kimtai (Director Retail – KCB), Lucy Tugee, Celine Mayiek, Naomie kwemoi, Aggrey Kirui, Elias Tanui, Jonas Kuuko, Andrew Maasai, Jackson Osuma, Stella Yego Kipyego, Carol Mayiek, Irene Malamik and Silas Sombei.

Brother in-law to the late Stephen Sisimwo, Mama Rosa, Beatrice Kisiero, Jane Psiwa, The late Matthew Cheptiony, Geoffrey Sisimwo, Evertyn Tumwet, Rtd Chief Sakong,The late Rhoda Chemengich, The late John Talach, The late Joseph Lukuk, Truthea and Jenifer. Uncle to John Kapsoot, Sammy Chelimo, Charles Muneria, Jane Labiro, Teresa among others.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his home in Chemuron village Kaptama Ward, Mt. Elgon Sub County for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege will leave Cherangany Nursing Home on Friday 11th February, 2022 at 12 noon. The funeral service and burial will take place at his home Chemuron village KaptamaWard, Mt Elton Sub County on Saturday 12th February, 2022 starting from 9:00am
