Son of the Late Micah Were, Agnetta Magumba Were and Mariam Taka Were. Brother of Joyce Nabwire, Agnetta Achola, Wilfred Were, Robert Onjoro, Manase Were (all Late), Fulumena Mugeni Were and Micah Were. Father of Josphat Juma Were, Florence Nabwire, Collins Were, Eddie Wafula, Racheal Wafula and Levi Wafula.

Father-in-law of Alice Nekesa, Catherine, Ruth and Barbara. Grandfather of Meivin, Victor, Daniel, Eric, Damaris, Wendy, Naima, Christian, Milan, Tamara, Mirabel, Nathan and Naga. Uncle, cousin and grandfather and great grandfather of Many,

The burial will take place at Mufumu Village in Sio-Port, Busia County on 13th June 2020.
