NAFTALI MICHIRA MOGUTE

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mr. Naftali Michira Mogute, which occurred on 27th August 2020 at the Nairobi Hospital. He hailed from Nyangeni village, Daraja Location, Nyaribari Chache Constituency, Kisii County. At the time of his death, he was Head of Debt Management at the Higher Education Loans Board, (HELB).

He was son to the late Mzee Peter Mogute and Mama Robina Mogute. Son-in-law to the late Eliud Cheboi and Hannah Tarkok (Eldama Ravine). Loving husband to Rosa Cheboi Michira (Kenyatta University-Kitui Campus). Doting father to Sheila Michira (Ombongi Kiptoo Advocates), Caleb Michira (Kenyatta University) and Diana Michira (Ombongi Kiptoo Advocates). Father-in-law to Hon. Joshua Kiptoo (Speaker, Nandi County). Grandfather to Nailah Cheruon.

He was brother to Alfred Mogute, the late Ogeto Mogute, Mary Onsongo, Julius Momanyi, Rhoda Nyamoita, Jackson Nyakundi (Deputy, Mesabisabi Sec School). Brother-in-law to David & Hellen, Gov. Cheboi & Dr. Chesire, Winnie & Julius, Susan, Leah & Michael, Jane & Ishmael, Alice, Peninah & John, Viola, Daisy, Vincent & Sarah, Grace & Nelson, Eric & Hilda, John & Amy, Joseph & Milka, Willy & Gladys, Silas & Molly among others.

Cousin to Tinega, Mutiso, Julius Keraita, Prof. Fred Keraro (Egerton University), Dr. Victor Keraro (WUSC), Dr. James & Dr. Ben Keraita, Scholastica Kabesa (Principal Magena Sec School) among others. He was nephew to the late Tinega, the late Ibrahim, the late Onchiri, the late Ongenyo, the late Bernado, the late Momanyi, the late Basweti, Iteba, Marita, Mogere, Nyamoita, Kwamboka, the late Keraita, the late Keraro, the late Nyanchwa, Agnes, Nyanchama and Moraa among others He was uncle to Geoffrey (Embu), Ogero (Nairobi), Samuel (Kisii), Moses (Kisii University), Mogute – Nyacheki, among others; he was a friend to many.

He will be laid to rest on Friday 4th September 2020 at his home in Nyangeni village, Kisii County.
