PASTOR CLARIS FLORENCE AUMA

With deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the demise of Pastor Claris Florence Auma of the Power of Jesus Around the World Church (Siaya) that occurred on the early morning of July, 30th 2024 after a brief illness. 

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.” – Psalm 116:15  Pastor Claris, was the beloved daughter of the late Jonathan Paul Opondo and the late Joyce Juma Opondo of Kateg, Jera-Inn, Ugenya.

She was the daughter-in-law of Mzee Michael Ogutu Obayo and Mama Rosa Aloo of Central Alego Malele. She was the loving wife of the late Edwin Owuor Ogutu.  Devoted mum of: Pauline, Christine, Robert, Scholastica (chi-wuode), and Edgar. 

Her love extends to her grandchildren: Ciara, Angel, Sam, Lloyd, Dimitri, Melina, and Kyla.

Cherished sister of Beatrice Onyango, Monica Ouma, the late Joseph Otieno and the late George Onyango, Ruth Akinyi (Siaya County Gov), Nashon Omondi (HSC Systems LTD), the late Elizabeth Aoko, Daniel Otieno, Dickson Opondo (SHOFCO), Agnes Achieng, Vincent Juma (St. George’s Girls, Nairobi), Caroline Atieno – Allela (HSC Systems LTD) and Michael Odhiambo (Sofitel, Dubai). Nyawana to Festus Riungu and Plundita Muthoni of Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County.

Sister-in-law of Simon Ogutu, Fred, James, Petronilla, Victoria, Caroline, the late Philip, the late Jeniffer and the late Chrispine, collectively of Central Alego Malele.

The late George Onyango, James Yongo, Millicent Achieng’,Tonny Owuor,Tonny Onyango, Janet Mackenzie – Omondi (JT), Aggie Opondo, Owen Dave and Bill Allela. Doting Aunty of Caroline Midamba, Linda, Imelda, Job, Helen, Teddy, Loreen, Caro George, Joyce, Diana, Lydia, Ronnie, Sharon, Daddy, Adrian, Easter, Frank, Joyce, Decy, Freddie, Jackie, Beryl, Donell, Naledi, Leo, Tawanda, Tiffany, Tatiana, Travis and Nadia. She was also blessed with many grandchildren from her nieces and nephews.

Cherished friend and confidant to Margaret Adoyo Amimo, Elizabeth Akinyi Otieno, amongst others.

The cortege departs Kwee Funeral Home, Kisumu (Jaramogi Special Wing), on August 15th, 2024 at  8:00 AM.

A Memorial Service celebrating Pastor Claris’ life and ministry will be held at the Power of Jesus Around the World Church regional headquarters in Nyalenda, Kisumu from 9:00 AM. At 2:00 PM, the funeral procession will journey to Pastor Claris’ final resting place at the family home in Awelo – Mahinga, Siaya County.

Pastor Claris’ funeral service – presided over by Apostle Dr. Ogonyo Ngede – will be held at Awelo Primary School grounds from 9.00 AM on Friday, August 16th, 2024. A private funeral will be held shortly thereafter, at her home.
