PERPETUA WANJIRU KINYUA GIKARU (WAMUKINYO)

(1933 – 2023)

It is with thanksgiving and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved, Perpetua Wanjiru Kinyua Gikaru after a short illness.

She was the wife of the late Daniel Kinyua Gikaru and co-wife of Shelmith Wairimu; daughter of the late Mukinyo and Mary Muthoni, and sister of the late Muchangi, Geoffrey Muraya and Stanley Mwai.

She was mother of Agnes Muthoni, Lawrence & Judy Gikaru, the late Annastasia Wangui, Nancy Kinyua, John Maina, Julia Wambui & late Michael Mburu, the late Joseph Githae and Martin & Bancy Muchangi. Step-mother to Margaret & Robert Kibui, Lydia Wamuyu, Priscilla Nyaguthii, Ann Njamiu, Pst Esther and Paul Kioko, Patrick (late) and Regina Wachira, Mercy and John Nderitu.

Grandmother to Shiro Mbuthia, Robert Kinyua, Duncan Chege, Dr Wanjugu Gikaru, EciWin Muchiri, Catherine Njeri, Daphne Muthoni, Craig Kinyua, Evans Kinyua and Isaac Gikaru, among others. She was a great grandmother to Koigi, Nyambura, Wangui, Muthoni among others.

Friends and family are meeting for prayers and funeral arrangements from Wednesday, July 12th 2023 to Friday, July 15th 2023 at All Saints Cathedral, St Thomas Hall, between 5:00pm and 8.00pm.

The cortege will leave Jamii Hospital Mortuary, Karatina on Tuesday, July 18th 2023 at 8:30am for a funeral Mass at Itundu Catholic Church, Mathira East, Nyeri County at 10:00am. Thereafter, she will be laid to rest in her farm in Gitangaruri.
