PETER KARANJA GACHUGIA

It is with acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely death of Peter Karanja Gachugia, formerly the County Director of Agriculture, Laikipia, which occurred on 27th October, 2022 at Coptic Hospital after a cruel attack by thugs.

He was the loving husband of Julia Wanjiru of St. Joseph Mkungi Boys High School. Father to James Gachugia (Kenya School of Law), Joyce Wanjiku (Migori Referral Hospital) and Sylvia Nguhi (Kabare Girls’ High School).

Son of the late James Gachugia and Joyce Wanjiku. Brother to the late Grace Wanjiku Ng’ang’a, Dr. Johnson Mwangi (Kagio), Rev. Njuguna (Njabini Full Gospel Church), Samuel Gachugia (Nairobi Water), Dr. Wilson Gachugia (Kabete Vet Lab), Emmah Gachugia (Ndunyu Njeru), Tabitha Njenga (Ministry of Youth Naivasha ), Lucy Gachugia (Co-op Bank), Njoroge Gachugia ( Sabugo Secondary School), David Gachugia (Gituamba Girls Secondary School Lari), Francis Gachugia (Nyandarua County). Susan Gachugia (Co-op Bank Maralal), Ann Gachugia (Tumaini Sec. School), and Dr Beth Gachugia (Ruiru Level 4 Hospital).

He was son-in-law to the late Samuel Kibue and Monica Nguhi. Brother-in-law to Dr. Kaguchwa (Egerton University), Dr. Macharia (Strathmore University), Jackson (Sage), Maina Kibui (Nyaturu), Josphat Kibui (Nyaturu), Rahab Njeri (Kahuruko), Robert (Mawingu Secondary School), Joseph Njenga (Nakuru),Waititu (Naivasha Hospital), Gathatwa (Thika), Mureithi (Ndunyu Njeru), Kabiru (01- joro orok), Gachegua (Meru), Wahinya (Ndunyu Njeru), and Mary Waithera (Nandarasi). He was a friend, cousin, nephew and uncle to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his home at Ndunyu Njeru, Nyandarua County or at his parents’ home, Miharati Kona Mbaya and at Emess Hotel, Nanyuki from 6.00pm.

The cortege leaves Engineer Level 4 Hospital on Friday, 4th November, 2022 at 8.00am. The funeral service will be held at his home on the same day from 10.00am.
