PHYLLIS WANJIRU MWANGI (WAKIMANI)

1922 — 2023

The family of the late Mr. Wilson Mwangi Githinji, wishes to announce the promotion to glory to be with the Lord Jesus Christ of their beloved Matriarch Mrs. Phyllis Wanjiru Mwangi on 25th February, 2023.

Daughter of the late Mr. Kimani Kuria and Mrs. Wambui Kimani.

Beloved wife of the late Wilson Mwangi Githinji. Sister to the late Monica Wangui. Beloved mother to Samuel Githinji, Mrs. Grace Njeri Maina, Margaret Munjiru, the late Stanley Maina and Stephen Kimani. An auntie to many.

She is the mother-in-law to Samuel Maina, Nancy Wambui, Dainah Wairimu and Jane Waithera.

Grandmother to James Mwangi (Githambo Tea Factory), Peter Karanja (Juja), Harrison Kimani (Joy Gardens School), Joseph Njiriga, Susan Wanjiru (Joy Gardens School), John Maina (USA), Rose Wanjiru (SA), Elijah Maina Mwangi (wakimano (Nairobi), Martin Mwangi (Naivasha), Mary Munjiru, Joseph Macharia (Assistant Chief Gatara), Grace Wanjiku (Naivasha), Antony Mwangi (UK), Marvin Mwega (Lawyer Nairobi) and Victor Githinji (UK). A great-grandmother to many.

Funeral arrangements and prayers are being held at her home in Gatara Village and at Joy Gardens School, Tena Estate – Nairobi.

The cortege will leave the Muriranjas Hospital – Murang’a County on Tuesday 7th March, 2023 at 8:30am for a funeral service at ACK St Andrews Church – Gaturi and thereafter the burial in her farm in Gaturi Village, Gatara Sub-location.
