REBECCA WAMWARI MBUGUA

With acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing on of Mrs. Rebecca Wamwari Mbugua, formerly a teacher at Bellevue School South C, Nairobi on 26th June, 2024

Daughter of the late Matriarch Joan Wangechi Kiringu.

She was the beloved wife of Mr. James Nuthu Mbugua of Nanyuki.

Mother of Emily Mugure (Inoro Girls’ Secondary School, Nanyuki), Joan Wanjiku (Jefferson Elementary, Wichita- Kansasa, USA) and the late Anne Wanjeri.

Mother-in-law of Eustace Murigu Karanja (Department of Health, Nyeri) and Stephen Kibira Gichuru (USA).

Loving sister of Joseph Kiringu (Embu), the late Milka Wanjiru, Grace Nyaguthii (Seattle – USA), James Mwangi, Mary Muthoni and Ruth Nyambura (Kangui-Ol-Jororok, Nyandarua).

Doting grandmother of Elton Nuthu Murigu (Maseno University), Edward Nuthu Mbugua (Nyeri National Polytechnic), June Wanjiru Kibira (University of Kansas – USA), Evans Gichuru Kibira (Wichita State University – USA), Elaine Wambui Murigu (Mutira Girls’ High School) and Eugene Nuthu Kibira (North East High School – USA), among others. She also left behind some great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her home in Mathagiro Village, Nanyuki and at Murigu’s

residence in Nturukuma, Nanyuki from 4:00pm for prayers and burial preparations.

The cortege leaves Consolata Mission Hospital Mathari, Nyeri on Tuesday 9 th July, 2024 at 7:00am,thereafter followed by burial at her farm in Mathagiro, Nanyuki from 10:00am.

It is God who gave us Rebecca and it is He who has given her eternal rest.
