It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rebeccah Nyaboke Atunga, which occurred on Friday 17th December, 2021.

Wife to the late Dr. John Atunga Mandere of Makairo village, Ibucha Sub-location, Bogichora Location in Nyamira County. Daughter of late Sir Charles Mosongo Okioma and late mother Pauline Gechemba Mosongo. Step-daughter to Mama Sibia, Yunes Kiyondi, Mary (all Deceased).

Mother to the late Wilfred Ontita, Kenneth Kemosi (DOHA), Gerald Mong’are (USA), Eric Matoke (Nairobi) and Polycarp Nyatigo (KMFRI – Mombasa). Mother-in-law to Ann Mueni Kemosi, Josephine Wayua Mong’are and the late Sarah Kathambi Nyatigo.

Sister to Monica Orina, the late Milka Misewe,Joseph Sagwe, Joyce Moige, Sofia Yahya, the late Ruth Lubanga, Joash Maragia, Karen Mosongo, Fanice Mosongo (KDF) and Tom Mosongo (USA). Daughter-in-law to Kashimir Mandere, Serina Moraa, Kerubo (all Deceased) and Juliah Mandere.

Grandmother to Pauline Moraa Ontita, Clare Wanza Matoke, Lydiah Mbithe Matoke, Wilfred Baraka Mong’are, Ivy Moraa Kemosi, Daisy Mukami Kemosi, Malaika Tembeka Mong’are and Joni Wambua Mong’are. Sister-in-law to Moran Mitentia, Joseph Achira, Andrew Ondari (all Deceased) Sibia Migosi, the late Maria Nyakang’o, Teresia Orori, Agness Banchiri Atari, Seraphine Nyakerario Subano, Mariana Mose, Barnabas Onyancha and Jenitha Onyancha, the late Elizabeth Gesare Queen, Bernard Abuga, Mary Abuga, Donald Nyamaronge, Julius Nyandusi and many others.

Aunt to the Mitentias,Achira.s, Ondaris, Migosis, Nyakang`os, Ororis, Ataris, Subanos, Moses’, Onyanchas, Abugas, Obanyis and many others. Korera to Nzuvas, Wambuas and Gichunges, Kitundus and the Renjus (Moshi).

The body is lying at Our Lady of Mercy Funeral Parlour – Ibara. Burial is planned for Thursday 30th December, 2021, at her home in Makairo village Ibucha Sub-location Nyamira County.

Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord and may perpetual light shine upon her. May She Rest in Peace.
