REV. FR. DR. JAMES JUMA ONYANGO, MHM

With sadness we, the Mill Hill Missionaries, announce the death of Rev. Fr. Dr. James Juma, which occurred on 13 July 2023 at Donald Gordon Hospital in South Africa. Born on 16 September 1966 in Ukwala, Siaya County.

Son of the Late Thomas Juma Musanya and Mama Margaret Apondi Juma. The Late Fr. James served as a Priest in the Diocese of Ngaoundere, Cameroon, between 1996-1998. He also served as the Administrator of St Joseph Kilgoris Hospital in the Diocese of Ngong, Kenya, 1998- 2001. He later served in the Diocese of Kroonstad in South Africa from 2002-2012. Rev. James also served in the Diocese of Rustenburg in South Africa from 2012-2022 where he became the Vicar General of the Diocese. In 2021 he was appointed the Mill Hill Missionaries as Society Representative in South Africa. In January 2023 he moved to work in the Diocese of Witbank in South Africa until his death.

His remains will arrive in Kenya from South Africa and flown to Kisumu International airport on 03-08-2023 then proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Ukwala. Burial will take place at Mill Hill Luanda Formation Centre on Friday 4th August 2023 at 10.00am.
