REV. MARGARET WANJIRU N. GATHUNGU

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we the family of Rev. Charles Njuuka Gathungu of Deliverance Church Mataasia, Ngong, announce the passing on of his beloved wife, Rev. Margaret Wanjiru N. Gathungu, Co-Pastor at Deliverance Church Mataasia and former headmistress of Cornerstone Academy Zimmerman on 4th July 2020.

Loving mother of the late Samuel Gathungu, Gladys Njoki and Esther Wairimu; dotting grandmother of Ethan Njuuka and Malika Wanjiru, and mother-in-law of Carol Ndung’u and Ngure Kamami. She was daughter of the late Mwalimu Dedan Mungai and Esther Wairimu of Kagunduini village. Daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Samuel Gathungu and the late Gladys Njoki of Gatitu village, Murang’a county. Sister of the late Susan Kiarie, Kamau-Ruikonya, Mary Kiburu, Zipporah Wambui, Ruth Wanjira, the late Charity Waniiku, John Waithaka and Gitau (Kihara). Sister-in-law of Christopher and Jeniffer Ndungu and the late Hannah Wathoni, Peter and Racheal Ndungu, Joseph Kariuki, Dedan Mugo among many others. She was a loving cousin, auntie and grand-auntie and friend of many.

Our beloved Mama Gathungu is at Umash Funeral Home. Burial is set for Friday, 10th July 2020, at 11.00 O’clock, at their home in Kamukuru, Upper Mataasia, Ngong. A plan to have a live stream of the event has been put in place in line with the COV1D-19 measures by GOK.

Rev. Margaret, we indeed loved you, but God our Father loved you more. She fought a good fight, remained faithful and finished the race.[2 Timothy 4:7]
