The Waganda family, Nyamuga SDA Church and Rusinga Teaching Fraternity, sadly announce the passing of Madam Rose Abonyo Ouma (retired teacher) on Monday 25th May 2020 at Texas Cancer Center.

Wife of Mzee Japheth Waganda of Waware North, Rusinga Island and co-wife to Esther Ouma. Daughter of the late Mzee Nathaniel Abonyo Omengo and Mama Winfred Achola Okuku of Musanda, Ihonje Ugenya. Sister of the late Agnes Onundo, Leah, Edith, Damaris, Christine, Omolo, Ibrahim and Prit. Mother of Florence Anyango, Doreen Atieno (UK), Erick Thadayo Okach (Principal, Nyamuga Special School), David Ochieng (DCI, Gilgil), Martin Onyango (NIS), Mildred Awino (Temo Primary School), Byron Otieno (KDIC), Linda Awuor (Snowet Academy), the late Bertha Mjondo, Carolyne (Uganda), Peter, Margaret, Steve Ouma (NIS), Hellen, Maureen, Hezekiah, Linet, Peter Ogutu, Jared, Mbata, Timothy and John. Mother-in-law of Kezia Achila (Director ECD College), Lavender Awuor (Siaya Law Court), Judith Akinyi (Traffic Police, Maseno), Brenda, Beldine, Rose Otieno, Franciscah Wera (Eldoret), Collins and the late Amos Otieno.

Loving grandmother of Gordon, Frida, Fred, late Rose Leila (teacher), Jonty Easdown (UK), Sandra, Ben Carson, Herbert, Japheth, Concelia, Dylan, Kayla, Sharnel, Shard, Bianca, Mark Rostal, Gideon, Raymond, Emmanuel, Jude, Isaiah, Gerald, Esther, Sharon, Vivian, Daddy, Maraga, Fey, Brad, Manuel, Peter, Linet and Victor Uhuru. Sister-in-law of Joshua, Samwel Odhiambo (all deceased), Hon. Pharesh Ratego, Dickens, David Ooko, Mwalimu Jacktone, Jacob, David Agik, Onyango Asingo, David Ondolo. Her other in-laws are Lilian Ratego, Benter, Margaret, Pauline, Rosemary, Josephine. Mary and Juliana. Her aunties are Angeline, Elsa and Hellen (both deceased).

Funeral arrangements are ongoing. The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home on Thursday, 11th June 2020 for burial on Friday 12th June 2020 at Kolo Village, Rusinga Island, Homabay County.
