ROSE AWINO ONG’IYO

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved Rose Awino Ong’iyo of Kenya Revenue Authority – Legal Services & Board Coordination Department, Ushuru Pension Towers – Nairobi Region, who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday 24th May, 2023, after a battle bravery borne.

Loving wife to the late Captain Maurice Ong’iyo Obure. A doting mother to Senior Sergeant Mark Ong’iyo (KDF), Eng. Douglas Ong’iyo (Asarna, Coldwater Manufacturing), Eng. Christine Ong’iyo (INDRA) and CIPR Jeanne Ong’iyo (Nairobi Expressway). Mother-in-law to Vanessa Prange. Grandmother to Elwin Ong’iyo, Tafarai Ong’iyo and Maurice Ong’iyo.

Daughter of the late William Amos Nyonga and the late Florence Oigo Olweny. Daughter-in-law of the late Henry Obure and Adah Obure.

Sister to the late Eng. Eddie, Rosemary, Steve, David, Joram, Damaris, the late Sally, Albert, the late Janet and Jacktone.

Sister-in-law to Frederick, Margaret, the late Sylvia, the late Caroline, Tobias, Victor, Humphrey and Boaz.

Cousin to the Odundos, Amimos, Otienos, Ogadas, Omedos, Ogusos, Okudos. A grandchild of the larger Nyikwa Ageng’o and Nyikwa Damar family. Treasured friend, colleague and a confidant of many others.

Daily meetings are being held at Rose’s family residence at Kariokor Flats, Block E , House 59, from 5.00pm with a harambee slated for Tuesday, 6th June, 2023 at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi from 6.00pm.

There will be a requiem mass for Rose on Thursday, 8th June, 2023 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church – Kariokor from 2.00pm before the final send-off on Saturday, 10th June, 2023 at Rose’s home in Gem Akala, Siaya County.
