RTD. MAGISTRATE JOSEPH WANJALA S.W.

10th May, 1938 – 12th January, 2022

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of Magistrate Joseph S. W. Wanjala, that occurred on 12/01/2022, after a short illness, at the Bungoma County Referral Hospital.

Son of the late Simeon Wanyonyi Wanaswa (Omusaba) and Rachael Nasambu (Omuchemwile) and Esther Namusonge (Omuliuli). Son-in-law to the late Abraham Kandawala (Omumwaya) and the late Prisca Namwenya Kayoka (Omusonge), the late Musa Mwinami and the late Loice Adongo. Husband to the late Sophia Nakubilia Wanjala and Margaret Lusinde Musa.

Father to Alois (Gospel Centres International), Jacqueline (Legal Officer, Kibabii University), the late Peter Wanjala, Paul (Judiciary – Kimilili), the late Kizito, the late Gerishom, Dennis (County Assembly of Bungoma), the late Manasseh, Jeremiah (Milani), Chemwile (Papyrus Africa), Josephine, Silas (Lake Naivasha Riparian Assoc), Pauline (Swissport Kenya), Dr Nelly (UoN/Jaramogi Oginga Hospital), Beryl (Pumwani Maternity Hospital), Linda (AA Kenya) and Churchill (Elgon View Hospital).

Father-in-law to Esther-Jackie, Shadrack, Janet, Grace-Joy,Vivian, Lillian, Michael, Ray, Daniel, Faith and Edwin.

Brother to the late James, Margaret, Judith, Diminah, the late Javan, Samson, Dinah, the late Japheth, Florence, Violet, Beatrice, the late Mary, John and Wafula. Grandfather to Major Vian, Nigel, Krystal, Victor, Emmanuel, Lena,Abraham, Roni, Gayle, Natalie, Derrick, Cyril, Greig, Ivanna, Gianna, Nicole, Joanna, Talia, Alora and Blessing. Brother-in-law to the Juliana, Situma, Ndinyo, Murungeti, Lusweti, Lwiki, Meshack, Robai, Phoebe, Daniel, Elikana, Jane, MirriamEmily, Timothy.

He was the Father figure (Mwimelisi) to his nieces and nephews including James Wanaswa (Ann, Beatrice, Isaac, Rachel, Stephen, Mary & Andrew) , Japheth Wanaswa (Wambulwa, Wakoli, Adala & Khabutsi) and Javan Wanyonyi (Patricia, Collins, Martin, Eric, Edwin, Eugene, Jacinta & Derick).

The cortege leaves Lifecare Funeral Home – Bungoma, on 20/01/2022, for a funeral service at his Khalaba home. Thereafter the body proceeds to his Milani home for a night vigil.

The funeral will be held on Friday 21/01/2022 at his home in Milani village, Sichei Sub-location, Bungoma County.
