RTD. SNR. CHIEF WALTER NGUNJU GATHIRU & MRS. PHYLLIS NYAWIRA NGUNJU

It is with heavy heart and in submission to the will of God that we announce the deaths of Rtd. Snr. Chief Walter Ngunju Gathiru and Mrs. Phyllis Nyawira Ngunju which occurred on Tuesday, 27th October, 2020 at Nairobi Hospital and 5th November, 2020 at Nairobi Women Hospital respectively.

The late Mr. Ngunju was the beloved husband to the late Phyllis Nyawira Ngunju. Son of the late John Kuria and the late Mary Wangui and step-son to the late Wanjugu and the late Wakonyo. Son-in-law of the late Zakayo Njuguna and Dorcas Njoki. He was brother to the late Kiboi, Wanjiru, Wambui, Kagenyo and many step-brothers and Sisters.

The late Mrs. Ngunju was the first born daughter of the late Zakayo Nduhiu and Dorcas Nduhiu. Sister to Ndung’u, Muthoni, Jane Gichane (KRA), Kanyi, Maina, Simon, Wanjiku, late Bidan, late Wachiuri and Gichimu.

They were loving parents to Wangui, Njoki, Kuria, Zakayo and Wanjiru (Naivas). They were father-in-law and mother-in-law to Wangeci, Waithera and Karira. They were grandfather and grandmother to Ngunju Kariuki, Mwangi Kariuki, Nyawira Njoki, Ngunju Njoki, Ngunju Kuria, Waweru Kuria, Njuguna Kuria, Ngunju Njuguna Snr., Ngunju Njuguna Jnr., Nyawira Njuguna and Mwaura Karira. They were brother-in-law and sister-in-law, cousin and uncle to many.

Family and friends are meeting at their home, Uhuru Village, Tumaini Location, Upper Gilgil Scheme, Nyandarua County, Bullhead Hotel, Ol-Kalou and Homeland Inn, Nairobi for funeral arrangements from 5:30 pm.

The cortege will leave Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru on Saturday, 14th November, 2020 at 8:30 am for burial at their Uhuru Village farm under compliance with MoH health protocols.
