It is with humble acceptance of God’s will we announce the death of Maumau Veteran & Chairperson of Maumau- Group Nyeri County Shujaa Samuel Wambugu Nyingi of Githiru Village Nyeri County. He was one of the Mau Mau veterans who presented case in London.

He was the son of the late Nyingi Waitathu and Susan Muringi. Loving Husband of Gladys Wairimu and Cecilia Wambui. Father of Susan Muringi, the late Mathew Karimi, Mwangi (Mbuku), Nyingi (Nuhu), Simon Waruru of Nyeri County, Nancy Wanjiru, Grace Muringi, Eunice Mumbi, the late George Ndirangu, Pastor Wang’ondu, Regina Muthoni (KICD), Mary Wanjiru, Paul Ndirangu, Ann Waguthi and Rose Mumbi (Ministry of Labour- Children Department) and Boniface Kinyua. Father-in-law of Swakei, Kigathi, Joshua, Kuria, Maina, Muriithi Gikonyo, Muita and Maina. Brother of the late Gichohi, the late Kinyua, Charles Gikonyo Waweru, Muthoni and Wanjiru. Brother-in-law of Kariuki (Kahiga),Wagondu and Mumbi. Uncle of Lawrence, Charles, John, James, Nyingi Moses, Njeri, Muringi and Many others. He was grandfather of Wambugu, Wairimu, Wambui, Wachira, Felishina, Mwangi, Njoroge, Rambo, Fridah, Emma, Mitchel and many others. Great grandfather of Jayden, Ryan, Kui, Nyambura, Angel, Mwangi, Anthony and many others.

People are meeting daily at his home Githiru Village, Mukaro Location, Nyeri County at 3.00p.m. for Funeral arrangements.

Cortege leaves Outspan Hospital Mortuary Nyeri on Tuesday 30th June 2020 at 9.00 a.m for burial. He will later be laid to rest the same venue at 10.00 a.m.
