It is with humble acceptance that we announce the death of Director Samwel Ongoro Gekombe of Samge Boarding, which occurred through a fatal road accident along Eldoret -Burnt Forest Road on Monday 26th June, 2023.

Husband to the late Rebecca Nyabiya Gekombe and Susan Jebor Gekombe. Father to Dr. Amon(USA), Dr. Jason Omari (USA), Dickson Gekombe (Kibabii University), Dr. Caleb (Nairobi), Gad and Rebecca.

Father-in-law to Hepsiba, Grace, Mellon, Margret and Dorcas.

Grandfather to Samwel Jr, Rebecca Kerubo, Peris, Celline, Linda, Dickens, Darrion, Lindsey, Rebecca, Samwel Jr, Shaniece and Samantha.

Brother to the late Otwori, Tabitha Mang’aa, Hellen Nyakundi, Samson Mose, Kerubo Matagaro. Step-brother to Ondieki, the late Momanyi, Mose, the late Jerusa Ondari among others.

Cousin to Meshack, Jemima, Ondieki, Joyce, Prof. Kerosi, Mary, Naftal Michieka, Ezekiel Nyanyundo, Sabastiano Mokoro, among others.

In-law to the late Mang’aa, the late Nyakundi, Matagaro, Penina Kerongo, Samson, Meshack, Ester, Susan, Charles, Risper and Hudson of Kisii, Jane, Maggy, James, Dan, Maria, Chela, Kemboi, Caro (Burnt Forest).

Brother-in-law to the late Jemima Otwori, the late Elmelda, the late Jane, the late Gladys Mose. Son-in-law to Lukio Kerongo and Mama Aska Moige and Sigilai Kibore and Elizabeth Kibore.

Main fundraising will be held on Tuesday 4th July, 2023 at Samge Boarding Grounds – Kondoo.

The body is lying at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Morgue – Eldoret. The cortege leaves MTRH on Thursday 6th July, 2023. The burial service will be held at Samge Boarding Grounds, Burnt Forest on Friday 7th July, 2023.
