SEBASTIAN KITHAKA KAUNGA

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the sudden death of Sebastian Kithaka Kaunga (formerly, Chief Inspector of Police, Jogoo House) on the early hours of 15th June 2024, in Nakuru Hospital, as he was undergoing treatment.

He hailed from Gakuyu village, Kamarandi Sub-location, Tharaka Constituency, Tharaka-Nithi County.

He is the son of Overseer Rev. Gabriel Kaunga and the late Mama Maria Kagondu. Beloved husband of Mrs. Ruth Batula Kaunga. Loving father of John Mutugi, Elizabeth, Jane, Mariam, David, Yusuf, Solomon, Rachael, Jesse, Naomi, and Sarah among others. Brother of Sammy Kaunga, Jeremiah Nyaga, Alice Karauki, Jospeter Nthiga, Margaret Kathuure, Berea Muthoni and Sarah Karimi.

Grandfather of Nathan, Ruth, Belva, Olivia among others.

Brother-in-law of Abdullahi, Jane, Esther, Betty, Tsori, Muchiri and Mugao among others. Loving uncle and mentor to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and burial arrangements at his family home in Nakuru (Mwariki).

The body will leave Kenyatta University Rereferral Hospital Mortuary on Friday June 28, 2024 for burial at his Ruungu home, Tharaka Sub-County, Tharaka-Nithi County on the same day.
