It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the Sudden demise of Senior Warden KWS Stephen Chonga Chilumo on 29th July, 2024 through a road accident at Mwachema Bridge in Kwale County.

Beloved son of the late Vincent Chilumo Chonga & Christabel Odima. Adored Husband of Nayewa Lemulugo. Beloved Dad of Malaika Kwekwe Chonga and Kylie Lozi Chonga.

Beloved brother of Basil Mwafondo & Maureen Okatete, Oliver & Rita Chapa, Ken & Hilda Mwasaha, Shukurani Chigiri, Kwesha Chris Farah, Pretty Siti, Fedlina Mwaka Chilumo & Mbodza Chilumo.

Beloved grandson of the Late Chonga Mwakai & Myaza Kai and the late Eliakim Odima & the late Abisagi Odima.

A cherished Uncle of Ayana Monje, Travis Chilumo, Shanique Mbalazi, Darren Deche, Adrian Chilumo, Amalia Lozi, Jayson Mwakai, Maya Mbeyu, Jeromy Baraka, Josephine Anzazi, Kristian Mwangudza, Kendra Umazi, Kara Muyaza, Renson Mwakai and many others.

He was a much loved nephew of the late Francis Deche, the late Peter Madebe, Julius Mwakubia, Sostin, Gabriel Mwakai Katana, Oscar Mwachoyo, Mwakai Mwakiti, Werehi, the late Enock Kiti, Kazungu, John, Mwambogo, Lewa, Dzombo, Dowcken Dola, Kwekwe (Mame Safari), Francisca Idza (Me Mzungu), the Late Esther Umazi, Kanze, Philipina, Salome, Lilian, Kadede, Agnes Mwambodze Mody Wodima, Chrispine Maloba, Caleb Kubally, Arthur Mutsune, Deborah, Ohono, Rosemary, Okwado, Oucho, Osiro’s & many others.

He was cousin of the Deche’s, Madebe’s, Mwakubia’s, Nzivo’s, Katana’s, Werehi’s, Kiti’s, Kazungu’s, Mwambogo’s, all Chonga’s, all Mbura’s, All Mwatsuma’s, All Dzame’s, Mnyazi, Ruwa’s, Lugho’s, Kubally’s, Maloba’s, Wodima’s, Mutsune’s, Ohono’s, Obuya’s and many others.

The cortege leaves Aga Khan Hospital Morgue on Friday, 16th August, 2024 for a requiem mass at St.Martins Depores Mbungoni Catholic Church, Mombasa at 8:00am and later for viewing of the body at their family home in Bombolulu before leaving for a night vigil in Chonyi, Kilifi County.

The Funeral service will be held at home in Silala Village-Mwarakaya, Chonyi, Kilifi County at 10.00am on Saturday, 17th August, 2024.

Thereafter, He will be laid to rest at the same place.
