On behalf of the entire family of Joseph Ogeto Swanya, Mrs. Anne Mokaya and sons Brian Ayub, Calvin Magwari, Chris Ombeng’i, Edwin Nyamwange and Ian Nelson wish to announce the promotion to glory of our beloved, Steven Mokaya Ogeto that happened on 8th June, 2024 at Kenyatta University Referral and Teaching Hospital.

Late Stephen Mokaya was the son of the late Joseph Ogeto Swanya and the late Mama Mary Ogeto, step mothers Mama Yunuke Ogeto and Mama Gesia Ogeto. He’s adored grandpa to Late Lakeisha Kemunto Ayub and Dale Ogeto.

He is also survived by a loving family; David Orandi, (Fridah Pst. Daniel Ondieki (Edith – Germany), Gideon Moegi (Mercy, the late Anne), late Timothy Nyasimi (Callen) Jemimah (late Akama), Beldina (Maxwell), Yucabeth (late Orina) Adv. He is a nephew of the late Mzee Elijah Ombonyo-Ndereti, Jones Ombonyo, Mzee Peter Mokaya, Daniel Mokaya and Adv. Wyclif Akuma Swanya of Swanya & Swanya Advocates.

Parents in-laws; Late Grandpa – Antony Motanya. Grandma – Jelia Kemuma. Brothers and sister in-laws; Stephen, Rose, Nyanchama, Mong’are, Josephine, Late George, Late Florence, Pamela, Irene, Jared, Motanya, Bundi, Segera, Gesare, Saringi, Nyorita, Pasifica, Monica.

Grandson of Ayub, Grandma Lydia. Nephew of Zachary, Tabitha, Ong’ondi, Joel, Ziruel, Helen, Teressa, Daughter in-laws, Marion Awuor Mthiga, Nancy Wanjiru, Joyce Wanjiku, Korera’s- Mr & Mrs Muthiga – Miss Muthoni- Mr & Mrs Muchina.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday 15th June 2024 at KU Referral Hospital from 2pm – 4pm and the Burial will take place on Tuesday 18th June 2024 at Iranya Riamisiani SDA Church grounds – Sungututa Sub-Location, Nyamira County. Family members, friends and Planning Committee are meeting daily at CITAM Valley Road at 5pm to organise funeral arrangements and fundraising activities.
