It is with profound shock and deep sorrow that we announce the demise of our mother, Tow Rabecca Isegere Kaunya, of Kakemer village,Teso North Sub County that occurred on 29th January, 2020 at Malaba Westside hospital at 1:00PM.

Daughter of the late Mzee Yohanna Sakin Papa and the late Miriel Matandoi Amoit Papa. Sister of Gladys “Kiradis” Mojongit Oputo Itiengi, Loyce Nasike Ikodir Karani, Salume Ikakoro Elungat, Sarah Ampesa Omuse, John Ekirapa, Naume Atenge Musuya Emomeri and two others. First wife of the late Papa Francis Kaunya and Co-wife of Mama Joyce Amoding Kaunya. Loving mother of Teso North Member of Parliament Hon. Oku Kaunya, the late Mary Toto Kaburu (Moding), Dr.Aggrey Walter Isemek, Phoebe Inyele Etyang (Apokor), Elisham Henry Otulia (Retired OCPD), Evans Maasai Kaunya (Rtd Snr Chief), Daniel Kituyi Kaunya (Sgt Administration Police), the late Stephen Papa Kaunya (AP), Mwalimu Agnes Amoit Osabini (Ataaba Oburi Primary School), Mwalimu Jane Anya Mundia (Malaba Special School) and Step mother of; the late Rose Asangire, the late James Masai Kaunya, Dennis Oyakapel Kaunya, George Omacar Titus Nandek Kaunya, Isaiah Kaunya, Paul Onyapidi and Isaac Isemeki.

She has left behind great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are ongoing. Friends and relatives are meeting daily for prayers at her home, Kakemer.

The cortege leaves Life Care, Bungoma on Thursday 20th February 2020 at 11:30 am to be laid to rest on Saturday 22nd February 2020 at her home Kakemer Village, Teso North Constituency, Busia County. Contributions can be sent to MPesa No. 0720 543805.
