VERONICA KAVETE MAINGI

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Mrs. Veronica Kavete Maingi on July 11, 2024, after a prolonged illness bravely borne.

Veronica was the beloved wife of the late Hon. Gervaise Mutunga Maingi and a cherished mother of Mary N. Maingi, Anna Maingi-Arungah, Catherine N. Maingi, Domitilla M. Maingi Thomas M. Maingi (Australia), and Claire W. Maingi.

She was a loving mother-in-law of Phillip O. Arungah, Mark Gichini, and Janet Sawaya-Maithya (Australia). She was the grandmother of Paul, Brayan, Alushula, Alyvidza, Matthew, Omwakwe, Emmanuel, Wanjiru, and Gianna.

Veronica was the sister of the late Alice Kamwe Kitama–Mukeke, Benedicta Musyawa Kitama Kituto, and Domitilla Syowai Kitama–Ndonye and sister- in-law of the late Paul Mbwika Maingi (Mukuyuni), Elizabeth Mbenge Ngomo (Yatta), Jonah Mukeke, Dominic Kituto, and Jones Ndonye.

Veronica also had many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends, all of whom she loved deeply and who loved her in return.

Veronica’s life was a testament of her dedication of her family, faith, and community.

Her legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue of inspire us all.

Family and friends will gather today, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at All Saints Cathedral from 5:30 p.m. of conclude funeral arrangements.

A Requiem Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Parklands on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

The funeral will occur on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Kivutini Primary School grounds, Kilala, Wote, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
