It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Winfred Mukami Gioche, popularly known as Winnie Mukami formerly of Nation Television (NTV), Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) and Winners Frontiers International Ltd, on the 18th March 2021 after a short illness.

Daughter of the late Benson Gioche Kariuki and Rachel Njeri Kariuki. Sister to Simon Kariuki, Catherine Wanjiku, Mary Wangari (KarehB). Sister-in-law to Martha Mwikali Kariuki. Niece to Mr & Mrs Joseph Muraya, Mr & Mrs Apollo Kihara, Mr & Mrs Anthony Mwangi, Ms Peris Muthoni, Mr & Mrs Rufus Kirigwi, Mr & Mrs Dominic Njoroge, Mr & Mrs Patrick Kimani, Kelly Wangari, Damaris Wanjeri, and many others.

First cousin to Mr & Mrs Robert Kariuki, Mr & Mrs Godfrey Githinii, Mr & Mrs Francis Gachanja, Charity Mukami, Mr & Mrs Daniel Kariuki, Apostle & Mrs Peter Thuo, Sammy Muraya, Mr & Mrs Charles Kimani, Mr & Mrs Isaac Kariuki, Eva Mukami, Mr & Mrs Muiru Mbuthia, Michael Kariuki, Julius Kamwara, Alex Gachanja, Mr & Mrs Rowel Mbatia Kirigwi, Esphan Mbatia Njoroge, Winnie Wangari, Nelson Lesika, Dennis Mbatia Wangechi, George Muthomi Kimathi and many others. An aunt to Joseph Mwadulo, Psalms Gioche, Destiny Njeri, Jeremy Gitau, among many, many others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at the home of Winnie’s mother Rachel Njeri Kariuki at Ngoingwa estate in Thika, and at the Sagret Hotel Milimani, Nairobi at 5.00pm.

There will be a fundraising event on Wednesday 24th March at All Saints Cathedral, starting at 4.00pm.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 25th March at Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) Parklands starting at 12.30 pm.

The funeral will be held on 26th March, 2021 at Kiamuturi village, Mathioya sub county, Muranga County. The cortege will leave the National Oil petrol station off Thika Road Exit 10, at 7.30am. The funeral service will be held starting at 10.30am at Kistrnuturi Primary School, to be followed by the burial ceremony at the nearby homestead.
