WINFRED WAMBUGO THANJU
The Board and The management of Social Health Authority -SHA together with the family regret to announce the untimely death on of Winfred Wambugo Thanju after a short illness.
Until her demise she was a former employee of the defunct National Hospital Insurance Fund –NHIF transitioning to Social Health Authority -SHA based at our Ruiru Office.
Winfred was a devoted mother of Edwin Thanju and Simon Njagi, loving mother-in-law of Ruth Thanju, and a doting grandmother of Lisa, Joshua and Malachi Thanju.
Her family was her world, and her love for them knew no bounds.
She was also a cherished daughter of the late William Thanju and the late Sophia Wangui, and a beloved sister of the late Simon Njagi, Julia Mwihaki, Elizabeth Gathoni, the late Jotham Maina, Ann Nyawira, the late Samuel Machira, Lydia Njoki, and the late Esther Wamuyu.
She was a cherished Sister-in-law of Rtd Major General Mugo, Simon Mbuthia, the late Gachuhi, the late Jane Njeri, Peter Kung’u and the late Irene Mumbi, and a loving Auntie, offering a warm embrace, wise words, and a kind heart.
Her presence brought joy to all who knew her, and her memory will forever be etched in- our hearts.
Winfred will be laid to rest on Friday, November 29th, 2024 in her hometown of Karatina, Mathaithi – Githima Village.
The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Thika Superhighway at 7:30 AM on Friday.

Prayer meetings are daily ongoing at Winfred’s home in Ruiru Toll, near Courtesy Beach, starting 5:00 PM daily.
Other funeral meetings are taking place at Homeland Inn from 5:30 PM.

Though our hearts are heavy with Grief, we find solace in the beautiful legacy Winfred leaves behind. Her kindness, grace, and love will forever inspire us. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
