ZACHARY MUTHAMIA (DAKTARI)

With great sadness, humility and acceptance of God’s Will, we the family of Zachary Muthamia M’Mwitari (Daktari, Dazamu), announce his death on 20th March, 2021, at Coptic Hospital – Nairobi following a long illiness bravery borne.

Son of the late Daniel M’Mwitari and the late Esther M’Mwitari, Beloved husband of Gladys Kaimuri Muthamia. Son-in-law of Phineas and the late Jesca Nkanata. Adoring father of Danson Kimathi (Daja Farm), the late Alan Kiambi, Lucy Joy Muthuri (Central Bank of Kenya), Loise Jesla Muthoni (Central Bank of Kenya) and Dinah Kinanu (Britam). Loving father-in-law of Janet Kimathi (Ntharene Primary Sch), Irene Alan (Nkubu Market), Brigadier Muthuri Kiugu (Kenya Defence Forces-Defence Headquarters), Morris Mawira (Mawira Autospares Nkubu) and All Nyaga (Nairobi Hospital). Foster parent of Martin Mwirigi (Ntharene Secondary School), Paul Gitonga (Principal St Aquinas, Thomeandu), Kaburu, Gakii, Mbaabu, Ngugi & Kinanu.

Grandfather of Japhet Mutugi (KDF), Patrick Mutembei, Kinya Kimathi, Murithi Kimathi, Jeff Kimathi, Koome Muthuri, Mwenda Muthuri, Kanana Mawira, Nkatha Mawira, Munene Mawira, Karimi Alan, Phoebe Nyaga, Makena Nyaga, Evelyne Mutugi and Kennedy Nawira. Great-grandfather of Fidel, Ethan, Huru Ruby and Khari. Brother of Martha Nkando, the late Joses Riungu, Tirindi Mwaja, Alice Guantai, Jennifer Gaiti and Gladys Mwongera.

Brother-in-law of the late Paul Nkando, Lucy Joses, the late Mwaja Karong’o, Japhet Guantai, Robert Mwongera, the late Gilbert and Esther Kiambi, the late Rev. Dr. Moses and Beatrice Mutuiri, the late Gitobu and the late Regina, Karen & John Gikunda, the late Kaburu, Ben and Susan Gitonga, Lenity Kainyu & Prof Kirigia.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Friday 26th March, 2021 at 5.30am, for a funeral service at PCEA Highway Ntharene Church, at 10.00am followed by interment at his home-Ntharene Village. Due to the COVID-19 protocols and restrictions the burial ceremony is restricted to Family members only.
