It is with sorrow and regret that we announce the passing on of Mrs. Zilpah Atieno Odak, a retired Literature Evangelist with Kenya Lake Conference of the Seventh Day Adventists.

Daughter of the late Mr. Nicanor Osoya and the late Mama Lucia Odemba of Ramogi. Wife to the late Mr. Richard Odak and cowife to the late Mama Danner Auma Odak, the late Mama Doris Osano Abong’o, Mama Damar Okwach Abongo and Mama Grace Oyuke Ondoro of Wire Village, Kasipul, Homa By County.

Mother to Betty Anne Akinyi (Highland, Ca. USA): the late Sami Onyango Odak, Tom Odak (EAC Lake Victoria Basin Commission), Odingo Odak (Arlington, Tx. USA), the late Jacob Mahon Odak, Ochieng Odak (Oyugis), Kodhek Odak (Oyugis), Evelyn Odak (Dallas, Tx, USA), Christine Odak (Arlington, Tx, USA), Violet Odak (Houston,Tx. USA), Jackline Odak (Atlanta. Ga, USA) and Rich Odak Odak (KOBA Capital Nairobi). Step-mother to the late Valerie Okla, the late Jenkins Odak, the late Florence Adoyo, Olivia Odak, Pamela Odak, Fenner Odak, Margaret Odak, the late Japheth Okeyo, Albert Odak (Arlington, USA) and the late Harold Omondi.

Grandmother to Joan Valerie (EGTNA) (San Diego, Ca, USA),Annette Atieno Odak (Highland, Ca, USA), Ray Odhiambo Odak (Bridgestone Construction, Kisumu), Ritchie Chala Odak (KEBS Nairobi), Sharon Atieno Odak (Dubai, UAE), Laura Atieno Odak (Kisumu), Michelle Odak (Nairobi), Wendy Odak (Netherlands), Nicole Odak, Sam Odak (Columbia, Pa, USA), Jacob Odhiambo (Houston, Tx, USA), Nyagowa Jamumbo, David, Austin, Innocent, Zilpah and Odak Junior.

Mother-in-law to the late Ruth Ondili, Maryanne Minayo Odak (Posta Nairobi), Florence Ondijo (Kisumu), Dorine Akinyi Kadu (Ndhiwa Level IV Hospital), Mary Ochieng (Ugenya), Sharonne Benter (Nairobi), Henry Solomon Odhiambo (Houston,Tx, USA) and Maureen Koundo (Matata Hospital, Oyugis). Great-grandmother to Sam H, Michelle, Luke, Arthur and Amor.

The body is lying at Matata Hospital, and the cortege will leave the mortuary on 31st May 2021, for burial at her home in Wire Village, Oyugis, Homa Bay County, on Tuesday 1st of June, 2021, in adherence to strict Covid-19 protocols.
